With great joy we celebrate our 10th anniversary in Doha this year! Since 2008 we have been in the capital of Qatar and since then the school has grown tirelessly and is constantly developing new educational areas.

In December 2006, the private initiative of a German expat family wanting to impart the language and culture of their home country to their children was the kick-off that led two years later to the founding of the „Deutsche Schule Doha.“

It took only two years to pave the way for the „Deutsche Schule Doha“, thanks to collaboration with the German Business Council Qatar (GBCQ), the „Initiative Deutschunterricht“ (initiative for German lessons), the German embassy in Doha, the GTZ, which is now the GIZ, and thanks to the support from private individuals and German firms in Qatar. On October 8, 2008, the school opened its doors to its first students, and classes began for 25 children.

That was the beginning of the development of our growing school, which now has more than 300 students and employs a faculty and staff of 60 people. It offers kindergarten, preschool, primary school, secondary school I and secondary school II up to university entrance qualification with the „Gemischtsprachige International Baccalaureate®“ (Bilingual International Baccalaureate).

As a school community composed of members from 30 nations, the German International School Doha is today truly a school of intercultural encounter, and thanks to its accreditation by the Kultusministerkonferenz and recognition by all transregional German authorities, the school enables our students to enter the German market for professional training and also provides optimal preparation for the German and international study markets.

By choosing the German International School Doha, you give your children the chance to face the demanding international career challenges of the future with confidence!

We look forward to many more good years in Doha in the Emirate of Qatar, here where we have been made welcome, for the good of our children and for their future!

The school leadership team,

Dirk Dillschneider, Principal & Diana Guthmann, Deputy Principal
of the German International School Doha
